Moving into a brand new home is the perfect time to take a good look at all the ‘stuff’ you have collected throughout the years and decide whether it has a place in your sparkling new Carlisle abode! When we ask our clients what they dislike the most about their old home, the overwhelmingly common reply is lack of storage. Whether it be a rental property without built in robes or a home with an unrealistic size linen cupboard, we are always looking for clever ideas to maximise storage and allow rooms to have clean uncluttered lines.
All our homes are packed full of built-in storage options with an abundance of cupboard and drawer combinations, spacious to-die-for walk in robes, practical butler’s pantry spaces, open shelves, functional laundry zones and lots more.

The spacious walk-in-robes as displayed in the Montclair at Greenvale Gardens Estate, Greenvale (left) and in the Vaucluse at Somerfield Estate, Keysborough (right) provide the perfect space to cater for the most extensive of clothes and shoe collections. The combination of hanging space, open shelving and drawers is functional and creates a luxurious boudoir style!
A visit to Ikea will provide inspiration for your storage plans to complete after handover, particularly for large walk-in-robes.
An abundance of cupboard space in the double vanity of the master ensuite in the Pavilion as displayed at Aston Estate, Craigieburn is a definite drawcard for this popular design from the Affinity Collection. Another favoured option is adding some drawers to the centre of the vanity unit, open shelving for towel storage, or a handy tiled shower niche to store shampoo and toiletries as featured in the Matisse at the Warralily estate, Armstrong Creek (Geelong).
The Vaucluse as displayed at Somerfield Estate, Keysborough showcases the versatility of the butler’s pantry providing an ample cupboard space, ideal to store the culinary tools of today’s home chef.
The kitchen as displayed in the Winslow at Williams Landing Estate is a great example of substituting banks of drawers in place of cupboards. Drawers are an effective way to hold more items than shelves and are overall easier to use by allowing access to items throughout the entire space. Create the ultimate kitchen storage solution with the finishing touches of soft close hardware and built-in cupboard bins!
In addition to choosing built-in options in your new home, our living spaces and bedrooms are roomy enough to fit furniture pieces, such as bookcases and standalone drawers, for additional storage as well as displaying items and trinkets such as photo frames and collectables.

Box Ottomans and decorative chests are a clever and practical way to add even more storage options to your rooms whilst also adding a stylish element.

An innovative and stylish option featured in the living area of the Selwyn display at the Aspire Estate, Plumpton and in the Master Suite of the Sorrento at the Featherbrook Estate, Point Cook, is the coffee table chest. Not only a statement piece in these rooms but also another storage space to hide items such as TV remotes, or to store extra cushions from the bed.
Built in joinery provides another great way to achieve additional storage creating clean lines and a contemporary style without the need to add further furniture pieces. A handy storage area to make the most of is the space under the stairs in two storey homes with some clever built in ideas you can add in after handover.
Open shelves in the master suite of the Pavillion at Aston Estate provide the ideal place to house the TV as well as your precious collectables without impacting on the space. The built-in desk in the Vaucluse at Somerfield Estate cleverly defines a separate study zone within the activity area. The integrated shelving and cupboard wall unit in the study of the Vaucluse demonstrates a practical option to enable the clutter of paperwork to be hidden away.
Baskets add further storage and an interesting point of difference in the bedrooms of the Vaucluse at the Somerfield Estate, Keysborough and the Winslow at the Ambrosia Estate, Cranbourne West. Under bed storage via pull out drawers can be a great way to store seasonal items such as winter blankets and coats.
The master suite of the Indiana at the Featherbrook Estate, Point Cook includes an upturned crate as a novel side table in a reading corner for a rustic feel.
And we can’t forget our laundries! Our designs include spacious laundry zones to add extra broom cupboards, overheads and laundry hampers to create a functional and organized area.

Another area of your new home to review options for storage is the garage. Whilst at the beginning it may look like there is plenty of room to hold all the sporting equipment and garden tools, it will quickly fill up. There are some garage fit-out experts who can create storage solutions based on your requirements or a quick trip to Bunnings to explore their rack and shelving systems may be the answer.
