Sophie and Iain underwent a difficult journey to start their family – but having their beautiful Carlisle house to come home to, following a quick and seamless build, eased the stress. 

For Sophie and Iain, the path to starting a family wasn’t easy – a reality that many parents share. Being able to retreat to their beautiful and tranquil new Carlisle home, combined with the ease and speed of the build, gave them much comfort during some difficult months.   

“Not long after we moved into our home, we started our IVF journey,” says Sophie. “Although this was a confronting and stressful time, having our Carlisle home to come home to each day really did make the process so much easier.” Sophie can recall exactly where she was in her new home during some of the most significant parts of her IVF journey. “Our master ensuite is where I would do hormone injections every morning and night. I was in our living area when I received the devastating call that only one embryo made it to transfer day. And in our study two days before Christmas, we got the call that I was pregnant.”

“We were lucky that IVF worked on our first round, and we will never know what factors played a part in that, but I honestly believe that having a calm environment to come home to every day where I was happy and relaxed played a huge part in our success story,” she says. 

Sophie and Iain moved into their stunning T-Range Crompton in 2021, following a fast and fuss-free build. “We were slab to keys in 13 weeks – we moved in on Queen’s Birthday weekend 2021,” says Sophie. 

As for what they love best about living in a Carlisle home, “The fact that we chose everything ourselves – it’s exactly how we imagined it would be,” she says. “Our home is our happy place, and we love spending time in every room. We love entertaining, having our friends and family over to share special occasions. Everyone is always relaxed and comments on how light and calming our place is.” 

“After coming from a two-bedroom apartment, it’s so nice coming to our five-bedroom house. The Crompton floor plan is so light-filled, and it’s so relaxing sitting in the lounge or living room with abundant natural light. Being so close to family and friends is also great as we entertain often and enjoy having people over.”

Since settling in, the young family has been busy creating special memories. “One day that will forever stick in my mind was coming home as a family of three for the first time. Our parents were waiting at our house, and we brought our beautiful baby girl home to meet them. It’s such a special memory that I will treasure forever.” 

“The many overnight wakeups, early morning feeds, midwife visits and countless tears, our baby’s first words were all in our beautiful Carlisle home. We have endured the challenging but incredibly rewarding and beautiful moments of becoming parents for the first time in our dream home. We often say to each other how blessed we feel to have such a beautiful home to start our family, and we cannot wait for all the memories yet to be formed here,” she says.

“Duane, our Site Supervisor, was also brilliant. He was on top of everything and everything ran to the timeline he provided. He was available whenever we needed and was more than happy to help us out and accommodate us the best he could when it came to inspections and handover,” she says.
