Clever Solutions for Your Home Storage
by Carlisle Homes
Great storage brings a sense of calm and clarity to any space! Discover these clever solutions for your home!
Lack of storage is a common complaint about homes. That’s why we are always devising clever ideas to maximise storage in your new home.
Carlisle homes are packed full of built-in storage options like plenty of cupboard and drawer combinations, spacious walk-in-robes, practical butler’s pantries, open shelves, functional laundries and lots more. These practical storage solutions not only keep your belongings neatly organised and hidden away, but rooms look, feel and are more spacious with clean lines and less clutter.
Here is a selection of our favourite storage solutions from our stunning display homes.
The spacious walk-in-robes in the Astoria Grand dressing room in Meridian Estate, Clyde North, provide extensive space for clothes and shoes. The combination of hanging space, open shelving and drawers is functional and creates a luxurious boudoir style. For more design inspiration, a visit to Ikea can help with further storage ideas after handover, particularly for large walk-in-robes.
In Cloverton Estate, Kalkallo, the abundance of cupboard space in the double vanity of the Astoria Grand master ensuite is a definite drawcard for this popular design. Another favoured option is adding drawers to the centre of the vanity unit, and open shelving for towel storage. A tiled shower niche for shampoo and toiletries is also handy, as featured in Astoria Grand master ensuite displayed at Attwell Estate, Deanside.
Open shelves in the Sorrento Grand Master Suite displayed at Aurora Estate, Wollert, provide the ideal place for your precious collectables without impacting on the space.
The Langholm kitchen displayed at Newhaven Estate, Tarneit, showcases the versatility of the butler’s pantry. It provides ample cupboard space, which is ideal for storing all your culinary tools.
The Matisse kitchen displayed at Berwick Waters, Clyde North, is a great example of substituting cupboards with banks of drawers. Drawers hold more items than shelves and bins.
In addition to the built-in options, our living spaces and bedrooms are roomy and spacious for fitting freestanding furniture such as bookcases, drawers, sideboards and shelving. They provide additional storage and a place to display your treasured items. Box ottomans, baskets and decorative chests are also a stylish way to add more practical storage to a room. Or you could incorporate more built-in joinery post-handover when you have a good feel of how you live in a space.
Studies, offices and desks have become more important with the increase in working from home. With integrated design and storage solutions they can be beautifully incorporated into a space. The built-in desk in the Arlington activity displayed at Newhaven Estate, Tarneit, cleverly defines a separate study zone within the activity area. The integrated shelving and cupboard wall unit in the Astoria Grand activity displayed at Cloverton Estate, Kalkallo, demonstrates a practical way to hide the clutter of paperwork away.
Of course, we can’t forget the laundry. Our designs include spacious laundry zones where you can add extra broom cupboards, overheads and laundry hampers. Plus, under the stairs in a two-story house is always handy for storing larger or less-used items. You could even buy freestanding storage units or have joinery built-in to keep everything neat and tidy.
