Take your interior to the next level with well-chosen feature lighting from our partners at Beacon Lighting! Here are three bright new looks you’ll see in our new Meridian Estate display homes.

Beautiful feature lighting does so much more than just illuminate a space – it brings contrast, drama and another layer of decorative interest. “A well-planned room scheme has a mix of different lighting types,” says Jessica Hodges, Carlisle’s Interior Design Manager. “Feature lighting, which is as much about the look of the light fixture as the illumination it provides, adds that touch of magic that takes a room to the next level."

When it comes to finding the best feature lighting in the country, Beacon Lighting is hard to beat. We’ve used several of their stunning designs to elevate key spaces in our new display homes at Meridian Estate in Clyde North – pop along and take a look!

Here, Hodges reveals three of the feature lighting looks you can expect to see when you visit us at Meridian Estate.

Be bold and set the scene with a trio of black wicker Herman pendants.

1. Textural natural beauty at Highview Grand 33

“To complement the soft neutral tones in the kitchen of our Highview Grand 33, we’ve added a trio of bold black wicker Herman pendants from Beacon Lighting above the island,” says Hodges. “Simple but dramatic, these curvaceous lights add texture and speak to the nature-inspired feel of the space, while bringing in a contemporary edge.”

“They sit beautifully alongside the sleek, mid-tone timber joinery in the adjacent open-plan living area and the breezy linen sheers at the windows. At the same time, they visually connect with the black accents in the island seating, coffee table and the curtain rods for a cohesive feel,” she says.

“When choosing feature lighting for your home, don’t just think about the look of the light fixture, but also the way it emits light. With their open-weave construction, these pendants create a beautiful interplay of light and shadow in the open-plan room when lit, which adds to the warm, welcoming mood,” she says.

If you want a more timeless look, try the elegant Hamilton 1 Light Pendants in clear glass and black.

2. Timeless elegance at Amberley 29BP

“The new Amberley 29BP features a modern, relaxed take on a classic style, with warm Danish Walnut woodgrain Laminex, Raw Concrete Caesarstone benchtops and linen fabrics,” says Hodges. “We’ve amplified the home’s laid-back luxe with a trio of decorative clear glass and black pendants in a classic style above the kitchen island – Beacon Lighting’s Hamilton 1 Light Pendants. They create a subtle focal point in the open-plan kitchen, while allowing a clear view through to the chevron-tiled splashback behind.”

“Interiors trends are heading towards the more traditional and decorative in 2023, and these pendants are a great way to tap into the look – while still conveying a clean, modern aesthetic. Really, they’re the perfect balance of classic and contemporary,” she says.

“For a sense of visual cohesion, we’ve carried the refined lighting style through to the master ensuite on a smaller scale, using compact, lantern-style wall sconces in clear glass and black to illuminate the bathroom mirror and artwork,” she says.

Express your artsy side with curved wall sconces in a mix of tactile, concrete-look, bronze and white finishes like the Made by Mayfair Luella 2 Light.

3. Sculptural lighting shapes in the Astoria Grand 54

“Expect to see lighting that doubles as art in 2023 – a design shift we’ve been excited to explore in our new Astoria Grand 54 display home,” says Hodges.

“This home is all about high-end luxury and boasts layers of soft grey, delicate marble patterns, ribbed surfaces and satin finishes. To elevate the opulent look, we’ve chosen striking sculptural lighting that doubles as art within the space,” she says.

“Curved, minimalist wall sconces in a mix of tactile, concrete-look, bronze and white finishes define the home’s entry, theatre room and study. They add a gentle, organic feel to these spaces, while their curvy lines create a wonderful contrast with the vertical V-groove wall panelling behind them.

“We’ve gone bold and dramatic in the dining and theatre rooms – two rooms that family and guests will no doubt spend a lot of time in. A delicate black and frosted glass pendant above the dining table adds elegance and wow-factor, while emitting a warm golden glow that’s perfect for entertaining. Meanwhile, in the theatre room, a sprawling fabric-covered pendant with asymmetrical lines brings softness and style into this family hub,” she says.
