So here’s a hint, stylish storage solutions don’t have to cost a fortune! You can pick up really useful and clever bits and pieces from your affordable favourite locals. We have found a few we’d like to share from well-known retailers such as The Reject Shop, Kmart and Ikea but it’s worth checking out the local discount shop or variety store to find some of your own storage gems…
Home office
With your new study most likely the first room your visitors will see when they come to check out your new home, you need to channel your organisation skills and think tidy but practical. Without doubt The Reject Shop is the place to source stylish desktop storage options with the timeless linen look that will match most décor themes. We love the Ikea old-school commercial style waste paper bin with a lid which you can even customise with DIY stencils. And the cable tidy is just so clever, hiding all the endless cords and chargers.

Bedroom
We all know that Ikea and storage are just one in the same thing, they really do think of everything. We found this great storage tip from Ikea Everyday, use pillow cases to store bedding or seasonal clothing and attach cute labels so you remember what they contain. Love it!

Bedside table chaos, sound familiar? Why not create a sense of order with Ikea Beckis interior storage, which simply sits right in your drawers for instant organisation! The Ikea Skubb shoe boxes are an absolute must to inject some order into your walk in robe, even if it’s just to hold the special occasion shoes, and they come in pink and black, his and hers done!

Kids bedrooms
In our search for storage options for the kids’ bedrooms we have found some beauties at Kmart. Underbed storage is a no-brainer, on castors for easy pull out and packing away, but stylish enough that it becomes a feature of the room. Baskets of different sizes can be a great feature whether it is to store toys, books or shoes, they make pack up time a breeze. The rattan style tubs are a stylish option over the standard version and an ideal option for storage of less frequent items to sit inside the robe. Fun over the door hooks, little houses to store car or miniature doll collections and wire baskets for sporting equipment, Kmart has kids’ bedrooms covered.

We love this Lego corner idea from Kmart Ideas & Inspiration, really easy to do and will keep the kids creativity burning for hours. And, everything can be easily packed away for the Lego marathon the next day, the ideal rainy day space.
Hooked on hooks
We love the use of different size knob hooks to create a pop of interest to a blank canvas as well as some handy hanging points for those designer bags and hats! We have found some reasonably priced options at Country Road and Ikea that will give your walls a designer feel.

Under stairs storage
Without investing in custom built joinery, the space under your stairs can be a bit of a waste land? We noticed this clever idea at Ikea, loving the Scandi feel of it but also the versatility to change the configuration or even move to another area. Worth a look.
Designer hanging
While not technically classed as storage, the emerging trend of novelty accessory stands can be a great addition to an entrance, hallway or bedroom. Add some bright Scandi style with blonde wooden finishes combined with splashes of colour for an interesting feature.
