We love catching up with past grant winners and learning how they have made a difference to their community. After a visit to Berwick Saints Basketball Club, winners of a $7,945 Carlisle Homes Community Grant in December 2015, we were so impressed with their new coaching kits!
‘The kits have proved such a success – the coaching whiteboard has helped our coaching staff to explain strategies of the game in a visual way to players during both training and on game days. And having the kits embroidered with our logo not only looks great but is also helping to promote our club further within the local community,’ Zorica, Berwick Saints.
Being able to give a kick start to grass root clubs like the Berwick Saints completely captures the spirit of the Community Grants.
‘We started our Community Grants initiative so that we can genuinely contribute to the development of community infrastructures. These groups work tirelessly to raise funds, and it is so rewarding for our entire team to see we have made a difference,’ John Doulgeridis, Director.
The current application cycle for Community Grants draws to a close on September 30, for more details on how your group can apply for a share of up to $50,000 click here. Over $415,000 has been granted to very worthy community groups since the program’s launch in 2014.
