Avoid the winter blues with these warming colour trends.

Winter is the perfect season to spend more time at home with family and friends.

But even though it’s grey outside, your home can still be warm and bright with this seasons colour trends.

As the frosty weather moves in we’ve got you covered with this year’s warming colour palette to turn your home into a cosy haven.

Dusty Pinks – Pinks have made a huge comeback in home interiors and there are tones to suit just about every taste.  You could start small by incorporating a few simple pink accents in wall art or a throw pillow.  Or if you really want to reinvent your space, combine rich shades and textures with black and white for a clean, contemporary look.

Greens – Just about every shade of green is ‘in vogue’ right now.  The great news is that it’s so easy to incorporate green into your home with a beautiful indoor plant or take it to the next level by using green tones for your walls or fabrics.

Terracottas – Rich ochre and mustard hues are so hot this year and will immediately add warmth to your living spaces.  Ramp up the texture with these hues by adding throw cushions or a chunky rug in a similar, complementary palette.  Creams and blacks are a match made in heaven with warm terracotta tones, so incorporate all three for a look that’s on trend.

Greys – Grey and miserable outside? If you can’t beat them, join them by adding complementary tones of warm grey into your home. An extremely versatile colour, grey comes in so many shades from barely there to almost black. Combine with crisp white and wood tones for an effortlessly sophisticated look, or team up with the many complementary colours that sit perfectly alongside grey tones: yellow, pink, teal, aqua, mustard, navy and green to name just a few.

Blacks – Don’t be afraid of black if you really want to add depth and drama to your living space. Start gently with a few decorative pieces and fittings - there are countless black light fittings, door handles and tapware options on the market right now, so you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Final tip: When working with any new colour combination, pick a favourite (or hero) shade and reinforce it with different patterns in a similar palette – such as a woven stripe or floral with a patterned rug all in similar shades.
